Spruce Grove is excited to announce that the Clean Energy Improvement Program (CEIP) will be launching soon! This program offers an incredible opportunity for homeowners to make energy-efficient upgrades to their homes with minimal upfront costs, helping to lower utility bills, increase property values, and contribute to a greener community.

But what exactly is the CEIP, and why should Spruce Grove homeowners be excited? Let’s explore the program’s benefits and look at its success in other areas across Alberta.

Numerous Canadians took advantage of the Green Homes Grant, which provided financial assistance for eligible retrofits such as home insulation, windows, doors, heat pumps, solar panels, and resiliency measures. The grant offered up to $5,000 in support. Although the application period for the grant has ended, Natural Resources Canada has unveiled a comprehensive overview of the grant's utilization across Canada and the types of projects it supported. Here's a snapshot of how the grant funds were distributed

• 338,904 households have successfully completed retrofits and received a grant

• 116,967 applications are currently under processing

• The average grant received per household stands at $4,499

• A total of $1.52 billion in grants have been issued to date

• 6 out of 10 homeowners opted to install a heat pump

• As of now, 194,880 heat pumps have been installed, with an expected 250,000 installations by the end of the program
